For as long as I can remember, I’ve always had a camera with me. As a kid, I’d swing my dad’s Olympus over my shoulder and head out on a hike up the mountains. Whenever my wife and I went on vacation, I was always the one behind the lens.

I like to think the world looks a little different from a photographer’s eye.

When I’m driving in the car, I can’t help but notice the way the evening sun peeks through the tree line at the side of the highway. If I’m going for a walk with my wife, I’ll stop to stare at a flower and the way a giant drop of dew latches onto the delicate petals. (She has to ask me to leave the camera behind if we’re trying to get somewhere on time).

I’ve spent much of my career working as an engineer, looking at a problem logically. But my passion for photography has given me the opportunity to indulge my artistic side. I’ve spent many years now studying this form of art. It’s not just a passion for me; it’s a livelihood.

There’s a big difference between taking a photo, and creating a photo.

To me, a photo is so much more than just a quick snapshot on your iPhone. The creative process is much more involved than simply choosing an Instagram filter. It’s about finding the perfect setting, capturing it in just the right light, and altering the perspective to make it even more interesting.

Time travel may not yet be possible, but photography is the next best thing.

When I do a family or pet session, I’m not looking to snap a few shots you can print off at Walmart. I want to capture a moment in time. To me, it’s not just about scheduling a photo session; it’s about creating a full experience. It’s about capturing memories and creating a piece of art that is lasting; an heirloom you and your family will cherish for a lifetime.

And I’m not afraid to get my hands (or boots) dirty.

I’m all for joining you on a family adventure. Whether you want to hike to your favorite lookout, or take your bikes down by the river, I’m happy to come along for the ride.

I’m a physical guy; I can make a studio from anywhere. I grew up western New York, just south of Buffalo. From a young age, I worked the fields on my grandfather’s farm. You can guess where my love for animals stems from – did I mention I offer Pet Photography? The farm experience is ingrained in who I am.

Of course, times have changed since my days on the farm. And even though I now live in yuppie-ville, Boston, I like to think I’ll always be a hick at heart. One thing I’ve come to realize is…

Life happens quickly.

We all need to hit the pause button for a little while. I want to give you the chance to soak up your toddler’s perfect pout, to enjoy a few more hugs before your 9-year-old reaches the teenage years.

Me with Ditto, the boxer puppy.
